In Loving Memory
of
Kathryn Ann Knepley
Katie, we are here to celebrate your life,
The measure of its worth,
And every single life you touched
While you were here on earth.
We wish to pay our last respects.
That’s why we all are here,
To thank you for your friendship
And all the memories we hold dear.
It’s been a privilege to have known you.
We were family, not just friends,
And we will carry you in spirit
Until we meet up once again.
Donations in Katie’s memory can be made to Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue (OBG).
OBG is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, so donations are tax deductible.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents George and Edith Knepley, and her brother George Knepley.
She was a graduate of Falls Church HS and Radford University, Radford, VA.
She retired from the Fairfax County School System, where she was a classroom teacher and a tech support specialist. She was also a long-time employee of MB-F, Inc., where she served as a dog show superintendent.
Katie enjoyed a lifetime love of dogs, especially Cocker Spaniels. Her love of dogs led her to memberships in Mattaponi Kennel Club (MKC) and Capital City Cocker Club (CCCC), which were both dear to her heart.
In MKC, she spent many years as treasurer, chair of the huge annual AKC all-breed show, and chair of the tracking test. In CCCC, she served as vice president and board member, as well as being the hospitality maven at agility trials, where she was known for her roving musical ice cream cart.
When she wasn’t helping at MKC and CCCC events, she could be found at the MB-F superintendent’s table at breed shows up and down the East Coast.
She is missed by Smudge in this world and is being greeted at the Rainbow Bridge by Gerri, Sirius, Snickers, Byte, Slider, and Freeze</p
