Mattaponi Kennel Club (MKC) is an AKC affiliated all-breed dog club offering a wide variety of licensed events in dog sports. MKC was organized in 1967 and held its first AKC conformation and obedience show in 1975, continuing annual events in these sports today.

In the early 1990’s, MKC members became involved in the budding sport of agility. MKC soon started teaching agility classes in Manassas, VA. Agility instruction and trials remain an important part of MKC’s program.

As AKC added sports to its curriculum, MKC members developed interests in those sports and encouraged the club to add AKC licensed events. At this time, MKC hosts events in conformation, agility, obedience, rally, tracking, herding, barn hunt, coursing ability and FAST CAT. We are working to add Scent Work to events we offer.
